Fish sandwiches have become part of many restaurants’ seasonal menus. Many look forward to devouring their first fish sandwich of the year, even if they are not Catholic. Different restaurants and fast-food joints compete for the top fish sandwich of the year always trying to out do the previous years sandwich. To me, most fast-food sandwiches taste the same – deep fried and salty. You can not taste the fish, and the buns are usually mediocre and soggy at best. That is why I choose to try local restaurants around me instead.
Growing up some of my fondest memories of visiting my grandparents was the garden they had. My Pop-Pop always had corn, different color beans, tomatoes, and much more. He also grew flowers and herbs that kept the air smelling nice and sweet. Because of him I started my own small vegetable and herb garden in the backyard, and this year I have attempted to grow a peony bush just like the one he had in his garden.

Am I the only one who cannot believe that it’s already the First Friday during Lent? It seems as though we were just celebrating Advent and the Christmas season. I know I wrote that I was going to write reviews of fast food fish sandwiches, but today we ordered something even better at work – Frutta bowl. The Autumn Harvest is among us. It’s a time to gather our ripe crops and to plow our fields in anticipation of the winter frost.
