Being on vacation is the greatest feeling. You can wake up naturally, go to bed at a later hour and conduct your day however you like. Then midweek you are all out of sorts. What day is it? Is it too early for lunch? What are we doing tomorrow? Sometimes you just need your back work and school routine to drive you and there is nothing wrong with that!
Work
This is a routine that is embedded in us as adults. We wake up in the morning, get our families and ourselves ready and head to work. The daily grind of 9-5 living is what we know. We have our scheduled breaks, a routine where we know what we are supposed to do and at what time. You arrive at work, you have your x number coffee and breakfast. It is a routine that we know and trust each day.
School
School works exactly the same way in grades Pre-School thru 12th grade. You are given a set schedule of classes at a certain day and time, and it helps to keep your mind and body balanced. You have time to be creative, time to be active, and time to be studious.
Weekend Plans
Weekend routines are at times difficult to keep up with. You have soccer games, CYO, dance practice and swimming lessons just to name a few. Saturday flies by, and you were not able to go grocery shopping, make dinner or help the kids with their homework. That is what Sunday’s are for.
Sunday’s are meant for catching up. You have the big family meal (it’s for leftovers during the week…), catching up on homework and reading, and just catching up with your family. These are plans we would not change for the world.
Mass
Mass is a time we need each week to almost meditate in silence – reconnect with our faith. We do not need to think beyond the next hour, we can just focus on the present and spend time with God. We are able to listen, we are able to relax, and we are able to focus on something besides the long list of things we have to do once we are back at home. Use this time wisely as it only comes once a week!
Parish Giving
This is one routine that I will not give up. Knowing that I do not have to worry about writing a check and look for my church envelope each week gives me peace of mind. I know it will be taken out of my bank account and I do not have to worry about anything. I can check my online banking and see the same amount has been debited from my account. Thank you for this easy routine!
As you can see we all have a routine that drives us. Work, school and life balance is important. So is keeping a schedule that helps us. That is what Parish Giving is for – keeping us balanced and in a routine. For more information check out ParishGiving.org today!
