Our partners in crime at John Patrick Publishing created an app for their wonderful church bulletin advertisers. Here you can view the church sponsors that are on your church bulletin and receive sales and incentives by the advertisers. Instruct your parishioners to go to the QR code on the back of their bulletin and download the app that is suitable for their device. Teach them how to locate businesses in their area and to see what is on offer. Your sponsors supported you during a difficult year, so it is time for us to support them.

QR Code
This time last year QR codes made a huge explosion on the media scene. They were always there sitting quietly in the background, but now they are front and center. Many restaurants are using them for their online menus, while news networks place them on the television screen so viewers can be directed to their app or website. Your parish should be doing the same. You can create a QR code for anything – your website, your bulletin, your church’s Parish Giving site, and so much more. All you need is 5 minutes to demonstrate how one works, and your parishioners can then view anything electronically.
Plan for Fall
Believe it or not, television commercials are dedicated to back to school! Teachers are gearing up for their classrooms with seasonal decorations, motivational pictures and plenty of ideas on how to make this school year better than the last. Are you doing the same thing with your Fall plans? Remember, it all starts now!

Sharing Your Abilities with the Community
We thought we’d offer a different kind of blog for you this week; something about the community. As you know Parish Giving is a part of John Patrick Publishing. Since many parishioners notice their phone number on the back of the bulletin, JPP often receives phone calls from parishioners about needing a handyman service. We politely direct them to their parish office and ask them speak to someone who takes care of the bulletin and have them put an announcement in for them. This brought up the idea of sharing your abilities with those in your community so you can help make it a better place.
The Importance of Social Media Part 2
As you probably remember, last week we started the conversation as to why your parish should use social media. You can attract Millenials and iGens to your church, convert with RCIA, use it for events and to broadcast your weekly mass. That is just a small fraction of what you are able to do with Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. Here are some successful events we have found using various social media sites!
