We thought we’d share a prayer for All Saints’ Day.

Catholic Roots of Halloween
It’s always exciting when we discover a new parish or diocese to follow on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. A couple of weeks ago I began to follow the Diocese of Syracuse on Twitter. They have a hashtag that they use called #CatholicFactsFriday. Some fun facts are that Michelangelo is the most famous and accomplished Catholic artist in history, or 15% of hospitals in the US are Catholic hospitals, or even that the Vatican is 108 acres. One #CatholicFactsFriday that made me stop and think was that Halloween has Catholic Roots. Needless to say, I did my homework and discovered that it is true!
Prepping for the Holidays
How did it get to be the latter half of October? Doesn’t it seem that we just had off for Labor Day and prepping the kids for the first day of school?! Now we are in the swing of things and in autopilot mode. We are also readying ourselves for the holidays! In a previous blog we discussed a holiday checklist. Now it’s time to discuss even more ways to prep for the holidays and how Parish Giving can help! Enjoy!
Columbus Day
Happy Columbus Day to all of our followers!
Autumn Harvest
The Autumn Harvest is among us. It’s a time to gather our ripe crops and to plow our fields in anticipation of the winter frost. With the harvest comes a large feast for friends and family to dine on. We thought we’d share some of our favorite harvest foods in hopes you may use them this season! Enjoy!
Holiday Checklist
We are all in denial about it, but when we changed our calendar from September to October this past week, we could no long put it off. It’s time to create our checklist for the holidays. People are decorating their homes with Halloween decorations and soon they’ll be stringing their Christmas lights. That means you need to make sure you have your priorities set and Parish Giving on speed dial!
Comfort Zone
First, we just want to thank all the parishes that have been with us through the years. To think, Parish Giving has been successful for eleven years now. We started as a way for parishioners to pay their weekly offering online and has become much more than that. This blog is for those of you who have been with us for much of the way. We thought we’d share what we offer now as opposed to the very beginning!
Serving Others
Preface: It appears many people enjoyed our Living Life to the Fullest blog last week. So much so that we all decided it needed a part 2 because everyone had a suggestion as to what living life to the fullest meant to them. So here we go, the second part of Living Life to the Fullest! Enjoy!
We all see service as a way to help those around you. It also allows us to feel positive about how we are living our lives. Today’s blog is all about serving others and how it helps you live a fuller life. Just writing the beginning of the blog is giving me positive thoughts and vibes that I just know it is going to be great!
Living Life to the Fullest
Preface: On a recent trip abroad, a surprising yet everyday occurring event happened on the airplane. It was one of those things that makes you reevaluate your life. I wondered if I was living my life to the fullest. Was I taking enough chances or playing the game of life too safe? Either way I knew I had to change because everyday is a blessing that should be taken full advantage of.
Waking up each day, what is the first thing you do? Probably make sure everyone in the house is up and ready for work and school. Now that summer vacation is over, we must get back to the daily grind. Wake up, make sure the kids are all set, make lunch, do the school drop off, go to work, pick the kids up, make dinner, do homework and repeat the same scenario the next couple of days. Although having a routine is great, sometimes you need to switch things up a bit. Here are a few different ways that you can live your life to the fullest without having to sacrifice your responsibilities.
Derry Girls The Antics Continue
Derry Girls is anything but a one hit wonder. The first season is an original piece of art that can be compared to a masterpiece. Season two has not only lived up to the hype, but has surpassed many expectations. The quick-whit and escapades continue to make us laugh and wish there were more than six episodes in each season. Let’s see what trouble the girls and the wee English fella get into this season!
