Have you seen all the signs for Vacation Bible School in front of a lot of churches? It seems as though everywhere I turn they are popping up! It’s great to see that VBS is still as popular as ever! Are you worried if your child is ready for a week long VBS? Well we have some sure ways to figure out if you and your child are ready to take the big step for Vacation Bible School!
Do they ask about it?
Since this year’s theme is Roar, many youngsters see the lion on the signs. Are they asking you what the sign the lion is on is about? If they are it’s an indication that they are curious. School in general is about curiosity, so you would want your child to be curious when it comes to VBS! Once they see the lion are told that it states, Roar! Life is Wild God is Good, they’ll know it’s something they want to partake in!
They Ask about the Roar Bible Buddies
Zion the Lion and all of his friends are available for coloring and other adventures! They will learn about Mack, Hooper, Marge, Savanna and Jambo in all of their adventures! If they seem interested in the Roar Bible Buddy characters, then they are ready for VBS!
Do they enjoy the Music!?
Summer is not complete without a soundtrack. That’s why VBS has their own music for the kids to sing along to. Some of the songs you and your child(ren) may catch yourselves singing along to are:
I’m Trusting You (even has a music video!)
No Matter What I’m Facing
Whole Lotta Change
Good in Every Way
Good Good Father
And So Much More!!!
Are you ready to let them attend?
If you feel as though your child is mature enough, then go sign them up! If you feel as though they are on the cusp, think about being a volunteer. This way they can enjoy VBS, but also have you there in case the day is too long. There is no such thing as too many volunteers at VBS!
Where do you sign up?!
We make it easy for you to sign up for VBS! Parish Giving offers online forms for registration to help keep lines down, and everyone organized. Just sign up, pay (if it’s not free) and then you are done! You can also sign up for t-shirts, volunteer and so much more! What are you waiting for?
So in all, if your child is eager to learn and make new friends, and they meet the age requirement, they should be ready for VBS this summer! Check out the dates at your local church and start talking about it with your family. You won’t be sorry!
